The most colorful event of the summer, the 6-Man Tournament combines high-level beach volleyball with wild team costumes and a full-on beach party atmosphere. As part of the International Surf Festival, it’s a true Manhattan Beach tradition. Even if you're not playing, the energy is electric and the people-watching is next level.

Known as the Wimbledon of Beach Volleyball, the AVP Manhattan Beach Open brings elite athletes and Olympic hopefuls to center stage—just steps from the sand. Winners get their names permanently engraved on plaques at the pier. It’s an epic weekend whether you’re courtside or lounging nearby.

One of the most grueling and prestigious paddleboard races in the world, the Catalina Classic begins at 6 AM at Catalina Island’s Isthmus Cove and ends 32 miles later at the Manhattan Beach Pier. Using only their hands to propel themselves, paddlers face open-ocean swells, currents, and wind in what has become a legendary endurance event. Watching them cross the finish line is nothing short of inspiring.

Live music, a pop-up margarita bar from Mercado, and fun family-friendly activities hosted by LA Galaxy? Yes, please. The Summer Vibes concert series at Manhattan Village is the perfect way to ease into the weekend. Spend $150 or more at MV shops and receive a free branded picnic blanket (while supplies last).
