Celebrating 100 Years of The Hobin Company
This year, The Hobin Company proudly celebrates 100 years since our incorporation—a milestone few family businesses ever reach. But our story begins even earlier than that.
The Hobin Company was incorporated in May of 1925 by William Henry Hobin, but the firm’s roots trace back to 1891, when it was founded in Stockton, California, as R.B. Oullahan Company, Real Estate and Insurance. For over a century, we’ve remained committed to the same principles that started it all: integrity, connection, and a dedication to helping people find their place in the world.
William Henry Hobin served as President and CEO from 1925 until his passing in 1933.
His son, William John Hobin, took over in 1933 and continued to build the company.
In 1964, William Knight Hobin joined the firm after serving in the U.S. Army and became President in 1968.
In 2010, Molly Hobin Williams became the 4th generation to lead the company, ushering in a new era of innovation while preserving the company’s trusted values.
Molly’s mother, Joan Hobin, was a beloved partner in the business and based in Palm Desert for many years. Together, they made history as the only mother-daughter team in California to carry on a 130+ year real estate legacy. Joan has since retired, and today, Molly proudly carries on the Hobin legacy, leading with heart, vision, and a deep connection to the communities we serve.
What started in Northern California has flourished across Manhattan Beach, the South Bay, and Palm Desert, where The Hobin Company now specializes in residential and commercial real estate. From luxury listings to first-time buyers, we remain a boutique firm built on relationships, results, and real local expertise.
